The riffs are mighty. The drums are unforgiving. The vocals are punishing. It’s coming from Mexico’s Matanza. They do death metal in the most pulverizing way possible. Matanza has a string of demos and EPs along with 2012’s full-length, Encontrados Muertos.
A listen to the Muertos EP (2015) promises about a dozen tracks that give us morbid stories through crushing instrumentation. Just listen to “Nadie Sale Vivo.” Rich, low, growling riffs make up the majority of the track, and they give it a nasty character.
Matanza may be an underground outfit, but they make sure listeners are equipped with enough fury to last for eons. Get in on some of the terror by checking out Matanza’s Muertos EP.
