Denmark’s Huldre has a new full-length out called “Tusmørke.” This release follows their first album “Intet Menneskebarn” (2012), which helped solidify Huldre’s presence on the folk metal scene. Featuring female vocals, the band’s foundation automatically gives listeners a fresh experience. You can count on Huldre to give you a glimpse into Danish traditions lyrically, and you can be sure their incorporation of folk instruments (like the hurdy-gurdy) enhances their songs. Heavy instrumentation does emerge. On “Tusmørke,” expect weighted riffs to take hold while mesmerizing tones hint at something from long ago and far away.
