Another anime series has forced me into infatuation.

Basilisk is about a warring family in Japan, the Iga and the Kouga. In a “Romeo and Juliet” fashion, Oboro and Gennosuke belong to the respective groups but are drawn to each other. Nonetheless, the tale is more than the conflict of love. It is full of dynamic characters who expose their unique powers while clashing, marking off their names on a scroll.

The anime series, released in 2005, is an adaptation of the novel, “The Kouga Ninja Scrolls,” which appears to be a good read.

I’m anxious to complete the series to see which group reigns; check back for a review.
