  • Watered-down Definition(s): Wit is of knowledge. In general circles, the word is associated with someone’s or something’s pull to judge based on a sharp perceptive ability; it is also highly associated with cleverness through intellect. 

  • Word Origin(s): The word comes from Middle English and is related to the Old High German word, wizzi.
